Additional Opportunity/Job settings

These settings can only be modified by an administrator.


This includes settings for your Opportunities/Jobs and how they relate to the following: 

  1. Signed Opportunity Display Name: Some call it a job. Some call it a project. You can choose the term you want to use in your company. Please use the singular form of word.
  2. Next Opportunity/Job Number: Choose the job number you want to start numbering from as it relates to another app you may be using. This will keep your systems in sync with each other.
  3. Opportunity Billable by Default: Choose if the billing rate for this opportunity will be billable or non-billable by default.
  4. Opportunities require duration and expected close date: make it mandatory for the user to input duration and expected close date on opportunities. 
  5. Require Opportunity or Job on Tasks: Any task created needs to have an associated Job or Opportunity.
  6. Budget Warning Threshold: The level at which Magnetic will alert you regarding jobs/ opportunities which have gone overtime or financial budget. Click on the "Deactivate" button to deactivate this feature.
  7. Hide Job Dashboard by default: this will hide the dashboard for opportunities or jobs by default.

    Other settings
  8. Task Billing Rate Required: when adding a task the user is required to select an Item Type on the task. 
  9. Block user access if timesheet is incomplete: this prevents users from accessing anything in Magnetic apart from the timesheet. 


Follow the steps below access these settings: 

  1. Click on your name in the upper right corner.
  2. Click on Company Settings.


  3. Click on Opportunity/Job.
  4. Change your settings.
  5. Save.
